A Kiss From A Rose On The Grey
Tumblr Themes

I did this theatrical ballroom routine in April of 2009 and was one of the last things I did before I was forced to quit.  I miss dancing so much I hope you can see why here. :)

The song is What About Love by Heart.
The choreography was done by Michael Raisch
The routine was fine tuned by Bruce Hasson
And my Dance Partner/Instructor is Adam Thornton.

I have always wanted to do a ballroom routine to this song.  It’s so full of emotion.  This was on Dancing with the Stars a couple of weeks ago and has given me the incentive to start working on ideas for choreography again.

This blew my mind! He’s so unbelievably excited!

From Jared Young’s Youtube Video Page:

Sep 2 2011 Lea’s Concert at BYU De Jong Concert Hall

“I grew up dreaming of playing the role of Aladdin.
Eventually I auditioned for the role at Disney’s California Adventure and made final cuts two years in a row. Though giving it my best, I wasn’t cast either time and I quit auditioning. But four years later my dream was about to resurface.
Near the end of her concerts, Lea surprises her audience by inviting a random enthusiastic volunteer to take on the role of Aladdin and join her on stage to sing ‘A Whole New World’ …that night SHE PICKED ME!!
I dreamt for 20 years of playing Aladdin(also for many years dreamed of performing alongside Lea Salonga) and couldn’t believe my dream was coming true! It was a perfect night.

THANK YOU for watching! I’m so happy this clip is getting so much Youtube Love. DREAM HARD and CHASE HARDER!!” -Jared Young @jaredmauga on twitter

Inspired by another of Glen’s sketches !

I wonder if the original was inspired by Robin McKinley’s book, “Beauty.” I’ve read the book often and it seems like many elements of that retelling (release in 1978) found their way into the Disney movie.
There’s a moment in that book where, “The Beast reveals to her that he cannot let her go because he can’t live without her. Upon hearing this Beauty goes into shock and faints. She awakens in the arms of the Beast and flees to her room, too terrified to listen when he tries to tell her that she unconsciously refused to let go of him when he caught her.”
(Summary from wikipedia)
At any rate, this work is lovely!
